Peace & Love in Hilo

Aloha kaua! Okay, so the Freedom Festival was a great success! According to all who I spoke with, this was the first time for the festival and I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was something right out of the 70's. Yes, this was the classic 'Peace & Love' kind of festival and I was happy we were asked to participate. There was definitely a peace loving array of folks that dressed in flowing dresses and shirts with jeans and a headband or two. The festival was on a mission to show that the time is now to Legalize Marijuana. Yes, it was a fun and fragrant affair. (If you know what i mean) We almost didn't dance until I happened to get the low down of the event from my dear friend Pilialoha who turned me on to it. I wanted to have a booth space for Auntie Doreen Henderson of Lei Hulu of Hilo.
She is a Lei Hulu Master and the halau is learning from her.
She is having a fundraiser with calendars to go towards the Leihulu Graduation Ceremony in April, for which we will be one of the groups participating. Please check her site to see some choice feather lei and where to get the calendars. I myself wanted to have a booth for my other side business as a Stella & Dot Independent Stylist.

Please visit my website its awesome!
Anyway, where was I? Oh yes, found out the young lady Morie who was running the event was waiting for me to call about hula and well it all worked out perfectly. I had my booth for free, since my halau was willing to perform! Ua maika'i ka la. There was also a few really great rock-n-roll bands playing that afternoon. I thought ZZ Top was there! Alright, gotta go. Hope u enjoyed my little post, please come back soon for more updates on the Akaka Bill and why you should oppose it.
